Happy Birthday, Mallory!

Today was the BiG day! We had to get to the hospital very early. I was admitted, and they got me ready for surgery. I was a little nervous, but extremely excited. This was the day that we get to meet you. OH, how I've wanted to hold you and kiss you, and today I finally get to do just that! It seems like I've prayed for this very day for soooo long! I went into the operating room at 7:30 a.m. You were born at 8:03. I remember hearing you cry, and I was overcome with so much emotion - happiness, relief, excitement, curiosity, etc. Daddy got to watch them work with you, weigh and measure you, and make sure you were okay. He took some great pictures (too many to post, but I created a book for you from Shutterfly so we can all relive that great and wonderful moment when you blessed us with your life!) You weighed 7lbs 9oz and were 18 1/4 inches long. You were the most perfect thing I'd very laid my eyes on. All I wanted to do was look at you. I think I stared at you for a very long time!! I still couldn't believe that you were really ours. I really can't explain how wonderful it was to carry you in my belly for almost 10 months, and then finally meet you and get to take you home as our baby girl - it's more than words can express. When you grow up and have a baby of your own you will understand just how truly wonderful it is!! I thank God daily for blessing us with you and allowing us to be your parents. It is our prayer that we become the best parents we can be, and although we will not be perfect - we give you our promise to do our very best!!! We love you, Mallory Ann!

Daddy getting ready:

We took tons of pictures, but the one below is my favorite from the delivery room. You were so brand new, and that's what you looked like the very first time I saw you. It was an amazing moment seeing you for the first time. I had felt you move in my belly, saw pictures of you in sonograms, and prayed for this day for so long. Sometimes I wish I could go back to that very moment when I met you for the first time and re-live it again. It was one of the most awesome times in my life.

Mommy seeing you for the first time:
You were perfect, the prettiest thing I'd ever seen!
