BaBy BiRdS!

We've had a bird's nest in our wreath on the front door for a long time. I'm not sure if it's the same bird that keeps having babies here or different birds. Recently we noticed that there were babies in the nest. While I was at work, you and Granddaddy checked on the birds. Sometimes when I got home, we'd open the door and check on them again. I assumed they couldn't "fly" as long as they were in the nest...

Well, one evening you were pretty sleeping but didn't want to "give it up," so you and I were walking a lot. I walked by the door and realized that we hadn't "checked" on the birds in a day or two. So, I open the door, we look at the birds (kind of like you are doing to the picture.) Suddenly, you swing your arm and hit the wreath.........and the birds go flying.....most of them fly out into the yard, but one flew into the house. I was panicing!!! Daddy was at work so I called Granddaddy. He and Grandma were in Oxford. I was so afraid the bird was going to hurt himself, or fly somewhere and get "lost" and die, or my BIGGEST fear was that he would start pooping e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e!! Luckily, none of my fears came true, and your Daddy got home soon after the bird flew in, caught him, and put him back outside. I for sure learned my lesson. The birds never came back - I guess we scared them away. But, from now on we'll "check" on the birds without opening the door!

1st SiPpY CuP!

We gave you a sippy cup for the first time today. You didn't really know what to do with it, but you instantly put it in your mouth (we had to "turn it up" for you!) You enjoyed chewing on the top. You like to play and chew on it more than drinking from it!

Inside you had mostly water with a little bit of apple juice. You didn't know what to think about that new flavor!

Happy Mother's Day!

Today was my 1st Mother's Day since you've been born. I celebrated a little last year, but you were still growing and developing in my belly. I am so proud to be your Mommy. Already you have brought so much joy and happiness into my life. I am so thankful and blessed to have you as my daughter. I love you, Mallory!

My "1st 5K"

Granddaddy loves to run! He runs almost everyday and participates in 5K runs a couple Saturdays every month. We went to watch him (and Grandma and Aunt Holley) while they ran at a 5K that was sponsered here in Munford.

Way to go Granddaddy, Grandma, and Aunt Holley!

You wanted Graddaddy as soon as you saw him, and once he cooled down he got you. You feel asleep on his shoulder!

6 MoNtHs OLd!

You are 6 months old today! We can not believe that we've had you 1/2 a year! You are growing TOO fast! You weigh 20 lbs and are 26 inches long. You are sitting up really good by yourself. You have found your toes and love to "chew" on them when you are laying on your back. You can roll around everywhere! We are just waiting on you to figure out how to crawl. You move your legs like you're crawling when you are on your belly. You just haven't gotten up on your knees while doing that yet, but when you do you'll take off!

You still love fruits and most veggies. We tried giving you baby food meat, but so far you've hated it! Your favorite baby foods are sweet potatoes and apples. You tried apples and blueberries the other day and LOVED them!

You smile a lot now and giggle. Your giggles are the most precious sound I've ever heard! You like to hear people sing. Your favorite song now is "Old McDonald." You enjoy all the animal noises and the "e-i-e-i-o" part ha!

You don't like strangers, especially men. We went out to eat the other night and when our waiter said "hi" to you, you poked your bottom lip out and almost cried! We think it's just your age.

You are the best thing that's EVER happened to your daddy and I. We love you so much and are so blessed to be your parents. We are both excited to get home from work everyday to see and play with you. I can't wait until a few weeks when school is out. We are going to have the best time this summer. Happy 6 months! We love you!
